As foreigners living in Japan, a visit to Costco is a thing we do. There are currently two Costco branches in Fukuoka Prefecture, but soon, there will be three. One in Hisayama, one in Kitakyushu and one will be opened in Ogori.
Costco Kitakyushu is the most accessible for us and I personally prefer this branch over the Hisayama branch. I find it more spacious, cleaner and less crowded.
There are a wide selection of goods and products at Costco. I personally like the salmon fish, pork ribs, big jar of coconut oil, whole package of kitchen paper, tissue box, lotion, among other household products. My husband likes the beef, cheese, and almond nuts. My daughter likes the cakes and combo pizza. We occasionally get flowers and plants. I actually bought a monstera plant from Costco years ago, which is still thriving up to now.
It seems expensive at first glance because the product are sold in bulk, but if you compare from buying to smaller quantities, you actually save.
One thing you have to consider is getting a perfect spot in the parking. Everytime we go, the parking is full and we always end up parking a bit farther from the entrance. What perfect spot means for me is just actually few steps away from the entrance. Well, I guess, it’s not that big of a problem. It is actually advised to park farther for our own wellness. A few walk would be beneficial for our health for sure.
